Purity for Perfection - Part 2.

This is the concluding part (Part 2) of the series, "Purity for Perfection". Please click here to read Part 1 of this series.

Three Factors to Attain Purity
1. Heart: Your heart is the most important in the issue of attaining purity for perfection. The heart is the seat of the mind and both are closely related and intertwined. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."

Anyone that must attain this purity level must strive and make conscious efforts for a renewed mind (heart) daily. Ordinarily, the heart of a man does not possess the capacity to attain purity.

Read Jeremiah 17:9; Lucifer was defiled by his thoughts and subsequently lost eternal glory (Isaiah 14:12-15). The power to change and transform the heart of man lies with God.

You must realize that the heart of every man is perverted and accommodate the wrong spirit but God is in the business of creating new hearts to accommodate the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Father, create a new and clean heart in me and put the Holy Spirit in me.

2. Confession: Words and confessions are vital to purify you. Your heart cannot be right with God while your confessions begin to defy you (Mathew 12:34-35).

Be mindful of your confessions and utterances which are capable of defying and condemning you. Let the words of your mouth be seasoned, edify and maintain your purity level before God (Mathew 12:36-37).

Prayers:
a. Father, have mercy upon me for all idle and wrong spoken words.
b. Psalms 19:14 - Help me oh Lord, let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable before you.

3. Work: What are the works of your hands? A perfect live shines forth the light of God unto others and this is best assessed through good works. The scripture says in Mathew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

At this moment, take a pulse and examine your works. Are you a student, government/private worker, public office holder, politician, businessman/woman, parent, guardian etc? How have you positively influenced your circle of influence through your good works or are you known for bad influence?

Do you tell lies, cheat, fortify figures, disobey constitutional authorities and commit all sort of atrocities? Our purity in this journey of perfection will be judged by our works.

The works of the flesh must be totally annihilated and seek for the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance) for our purity for perfection to appear (Galatians 5:19-23)
