Sensational singer, Tiwa Savage, and Dr Sid have been announced as hosts for the 2013 edition of The Headies, Nigeria’s biggest and most prestigious music awards.
According to the organisers, both artistes have been selected in line with the award tradition of picking talented entertainers to host the awards ceremony, which parades some of the continent’s entertainers.
Savage has earned a place for herself as one of the Nigeria’s favourite artistes since the release of her 2010 debut single, Kele Kele Love.
The song, which was released while Savage was still in the United States of America, topped charts instantly but it was the follow up single: Love me Love me, that won the hearts of many.
The Headies 2013, will be a master show piece.
According to Savage: “Being the 8th year, it’s not an easy task to be consistent in a country like Nigeria.
“So kudos to the organizers for creating an award by Nigerians for Nigerians.”

Joining the newly married singer at The Headies 2013 as co-host is her label mate, Sidney Esiri, better known as Dr Sid.
The Over The Moon hit maker couldn’t hold back his excitement over the organisers’ decision to choose him as a co-host for the award.
Esiri said: “I've waited to be called to no avail and this year, I’m hosting. “I’m so glad for this wonderful opportunity.”

The Headies 2013 will hold on December 26 at the Ground Ball Room of the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos State.
